Day 2 | 30 Day Snap Challenge

Hey everyone! :)

So today I pretty much was sick all day and I don't know why! I felt fine yesterday when I was outside but today was just not my day. So I spent the entire day indoors with cup after cup of tea, packs of tissues and of course my laptop and Youtube. I've been trying to get better, hence the lack of an actual post today but I should be back on Tuesday after some rest after work tomorrow and an early night tonight. So I promise there will be something for you on Tuesday. What it might be is still up in the air but we'll see when we get there right? If you have anything you want me to talk about Tuesday or Thursday this week, let me know! So far those two days don't have set plans like Monday and Friday normally do, so hit me up with anything you'd like to hear about!

Yes, before you all ask, that is Dan Howell on my laptop screen. I was watching his new video after the radio show this afternoon with a few of my new friends! Look at twitter, the BBC, and Dan/Phil bringing people together one weekend at a time.

That's all for today friends, I'll see you all with a real post on Tuesday and another Snap challenge tomorrow!

Cheers! x

TGIF #2

Credit given to the original owner of the image
Hey everyone! :)

Another Friday has come already and it took me a little longer to decide what I wanted to use as my second TGIF words of wisdom! I've been stock piling them so that I have a good chunk to apply to different moments in life and that will work at different times during these kind of posts. So I finally decided upon the quote from Arthur Forman after looking through some comments on Youtube, talking with friends and disagreement with my family.

Personally, I am the kind of person who is tolerant of people and try my best not to judge another person simply because of their ideas or the things that they do. Yet, it sometimes is very hard to keep that kind of attitude when people make it so easy to dislike them. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions and is a master of their own lives, but it is sometimes hard to just agree with them. I've had friends with views that I simply do not agree with but I feel inclined to stay silent because my friendship with them is more important than those views. That is the thing that we all have to really take away from this quote. The fact that the author is drawing attention to the idea of getting along with other people and not letting the little things get into the way of what could be an amazing friendship!

A lot of people in the world aren't going to agree with you, and aren't going to think the same things that you might. There are different opinions everywhere and there is, hopefully, never going to be one that is right. When you attempt to force an opinion onto people there is a good chance that it is going to make them resent that opinion. At least, that is what happens in my experience. I find myself often hating the opinions that people try to shove down my throat, so to speak, and try to take the opposite ideas from that. Does it annoy most people? Yes, of course it does, but it is my right to have a choice and to speak out. Don't let anyone take that away from you, you have your own mind and can make your own choices and decisions. The minute that someone tries to take that away from you, you need to find a way to get it back. However, don't push your opinions onto people because you think they are simply wrong in their ideas. Listen to them and talk with them in a reasonable manner. What is the worst that can happen if you keep calm and talk it out? You might even learn something about the opposite side of your ideas and find that they might not be as terrible as they appear at first.

This quote doesn't apply to everything in life, don't get me wrong with that. I'm not going to give examples because I really don't want to say to anyone that reads this that I completely disagree with them or that I have a strong opinion on something they don't believe in, but I do acknowledge the fact that a lot of people don't want to listen to other ideas and thoughts and don't care about the consequences. I think the quote is especially powerful given the idea of people's outlook on themselves. I've mentioned before that I have a low self-esteem and it is in part because I've taken other people's opinions and views of me to heart because they sounded louder and more forceful than my own. They didn't care about my opinion of myself and didn't care that I liked being different from them. It has taken me up until this year to truly take myself into consideration and to truly feel like I am taking control of my life. Don't let another opinion completely change your outlook on life, don't let someone else control the way that you view the world.

All in all, respect other people and the way they choose to see the world! Don't crush someone's opinions simply because don't believe everything that they think. That is fine! If you truly like talking with someone you make the differing opinions work and you learn to avoid topics that might end in a huge disagreement. It is a part of life and the sooner I think people learn that the happier they will be in the end!

That is everything for today but tomorrow I'll be starting the 30 Day Snap Challenge!

So for the month of June I'll be posting a picture a day from my life! It isn't going to be easy, that is for sure with the kind of life I have, but I'm going to try and make it work as much as possible! I hope a lot of you do check it out and leave a link below so I can follow the pictures! I love love love being nosey through pictures like that.

Cheers! x

Take me out!

Hey everyone! :)

I've had a very busy day today, goodness gracious! It has been a wonderful day and I'm glad that I finally got out of my house and was able to do something. Fun fact for you all; I never get invited anywhere. As sad as that sounds, it is completely true, but it isn't all that bad. It makes me cherish the times when I do get to go out and see my friends. Today I met up with a friend who has been away at school for months and decided that it was a good idea to meet up with each other and just hang out for a little while. Which of course entails going back to our old school and spending time with friends that were younger then us and haven't quite graduated yet.

To the majority of people who read that last line, I've just appeared insane haven't I? I should explain first that my old high school was nothing like most high schools. I can honestly say that I've never had more of a family feeling when walking into a building and talking to people; teachers and students alike. It just feels like everyone in the school is a small, tight community that holds onto one another for support. I've relied on that school much more then I should simply because of the family feeling to it all. I figure that it has something to do with the fact that we had less then 1500 people in our school (I think my graduating class had 60 students in it) simply because the work load was intense compared with the other schools in the area. Oh well, I guess I am just one of those people that are forever going to be stuck in high school.

So as I was saying before, I met up with a friend and the original plan was to meet up and grab some lunch and tea and just talk and catch up. Well considering the fact that we spent about three hours at the high school talking and having a good time, we ended up getting dinner instead. Either way it was super nice and I was glad to be able to talk to her again! Now, I'm not one of those people who have an Instagram and post pictures of every meal, but the place that we went had amazing food and I felt the need to take a picture of it.

A wonderful dinner, complete with ice-tea!
Doesn't that look amazing? So I got a simple greek salad for my side, since I wasn't feeling as adventurous as I could have been. Oh well, to each their own? According to the menu my sandwich is a sunflower rye bread with mushrooms, spinach, oregano, feta and provolone, all grilled to a perfection. I rarely eat out (mostly because I am a broke university student) but when I do, we end up picking amazing places. It was perfect for a day out and I'm glad that I managed to get the time to do it!

Thanks so much everyone for reading and I know it was kinda boring today? I'm sorry! If you have anything you'd like to see me write/talk about feel free to leave it in a comment! I love getting feedback as well and just hearing what you did/didn't like about my blog post.

I'll try and talk to you again soon, depending on how work is going to treat me these next few days.
Until then,
Cheers! x
